Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board and APSSP reach a tentative
local Collective Agreement
The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board and the Association of Professional Student Services Personnel (APSSP) have reached a tentative local Collective Agreement, pending ratification by both parties.
Local negotiations and the ratification process are governed by the new two tiered bargaining structure outlined in the School Boards Collective Bargaining Act, 2014.
The three-year agreement, September 1, 2014 to August 31, 2017 is in accordance with the ratified terms of the central agreement “Memorandum of Settlement between EWAO, the Council of Trustees -Associations (CTA), and as agreed to by the Crown, dated November 21, 2015.”
The Association of Professional Student Services Personnel (APSSP) represents approximately 250 support staff in Dufferin-Peel comprised of Psychologists, Speech and Language Pathologists, Social Workers and Child and Youth Workers.
The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board is one of the largest school boards in Ontario with approximately 83,000 students in 149 schools located throughout Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon and Orangeville. The board is also one of the largest employers in the region with approximately 11,000 employees.
