There are two mandatory components to this section (1) the orientation session and (2) the orientation module.
1) Orientation Session
There is a mandatory one-hour orientation session at the onset of the semester. Parents/Guardians are welcome to attend this evening session. This may be the only opportunity for the online teacher and students to meet face-to-face. Students must arrange for their own transportation to this orientation session. At that time, students will meet their teacher and be given their username and temporary password to their course.
The purpose of this orientation session is to:
- meet your online teacher
- distribute usernames and passwords to students
- give students an opportunity to log into the orientation module (see below)
- post initial responses to your teacher using the LMS
- discuss the Code of Conduct for eLearning
- answer questions
- if applicable: provide your IEP to your online teacher
2) Orientation Module
Students must complete an orientation module before starting their online credit course. This module is located within the learning management system and will become available on the evening of the orientation session. This module will help students become more familiar with the learning management system. Once this module has been completed, students will be provided with a link to access their online credit course.
